REKUIEM: 'New Record Will Be Heavy, Real Heavy'

November 9, 2006

REKUIEM (formerly REQUIEM),the cult NWOBHM band that was at the very start of the British metal movement alongside such names as DIAMOND HEAD and WITCHFINDER GENERAL, has posted the following message on its official web site:

"REKUIEM are currently going through ideas for the anticipated new album for release summer 2007! No title as yet but one thing is agreed — that the new record will be heavy, real heavy!!! Other things in the pipeline are a vinyl release for 'Time Will Tell', also digital downloads via iTunes, etc. While we await feedback from reviews and record sales, we look forward to seeing some of you live in 2007."

In 1980, REQUIEM issued their first and last single, the self-financed "Angel of Sin" on Sacrificial Records. The single was backed by "Sacrificial Wanderer" and was issued without a picture sleeve. It is now incredibly rare and somewhat of a collector's item for NWOBHM fanatics.

REKUIEM's debut album, "Time Will Tell", was released earlier in the year via Majestic Rock.
